Several months ago I was shopping at Motherhood Maternity, and the sales lady misinformed me into opening a credit card without me knowing. She made it seem like it was just like a club card or rewards card, but at no time did she mention it was a credit card. Even the form she had me fill out didn’t even mention anything about a credit card. Then all of a sudden she said that I had been approved, and shockingly I learned she had opened up a credit card in my name. I asked her if this card was actually a credit card, and her exact words were, “Kind of”, when it was in fact a credit card. I told her that I didn’t want it and to cancel it, and so she did, or at least she said she did. Then a week or two later, I received this card in the mail, called the company to check if it was already canceled, but it wasn’t so I went ahead and canceled it since the sales lady hadn’t actually canceled it like she said she did. Now this closed account is on my credit report all because of that sales lady. Can I dispute this and have it removed from my credit report?

I have 2 credit cards that are open, i ran into some job problems and lack of pay caused me to seek credit counseling on 4 of my other cards. They closed the accounts but turns out the credit counseling company was just a rip off so i canceled them and tried to deal with the creditors on my own. I’m young, i’m learning, so i dont need anyone to beat me into the ground about this. ANYONE can lose a job. And i was never fired. Just laid off. So, having that said. Is there anything that looks “good” on your credit score in particular other than paying off those past balances? and paying bills on time? Is there anything i can do?

I’m looking to get a credit card for improving my credit rating a wee bit.

The idea is to get a credit limit of £100-£200 and just use it for petrol. I’ll pay it off monthly on pay day.

Is it correct that if I pay it off in full every month I’ll avoid paying interest?

Will this do any good for my credit rating??

I was declared bankrupt about 4 years ago and discharged 6 months later. Since then I have had a current account which I have been running in good order. However, I recently tried applying for credit and was refused on the basis that there was still some issues with my credit rating. Is this due to the bankruptcy still? A friend told me that I needed to obtain something from the court stating I was bankrupt in order for me to be able to apply for credit again, is this the case?
