I have some credit card debt (ranging from 1k-4k) that I want to settle on. I haven’t paid a dime in about 2 years, so I should be able to get pretty low. The only problem is that I want to settle ASAP. I’ve heard people say you can settle for 30% of what you owe. I was thinking of a 40% settlement offer so make it quick and easy without having to negotiate back and forth. Any other info will help. Thanks!

I want to pre-order Grand Theft Auto 5 for the PS3 on the PlayStation Store. I just do not know when I am going to have to pay for it. I have a debit card and I only have $20 in it now. I wanted to pre-order from there because I heard of the 75% off any Rockstar games deal. I wanted to purchase GTA 4 and Red Dead Redemption, which is going to be $15 in total. I will have the full amount for GTA 5 before GTA 5 comes out. Those who have pre-ordered from the PS Store please answer.

Hi All. I’m a recent college grad who is fairly new to the workforce and is ready to get rid of her credit card debt!! I was fortunate enought not to borrow much in student loans (a total of about $9,000), however by grad time I owed about 9 thousand in credit card debt. Now I am ready to get rid of this burden. I know that this sounds horrible, but my situation was very different than that of the average student. I am a mother and was raising my daughter the whole time during college. Instead of working full time I focused on my studies and only worked part time. Needless to say this made everything harder but in the end it was worth it. Also, I’m not looking for an overnight solution. It took me six years to accumulate this debt so I know it wont disappera overnight. I’m just looking for the best way to go about it. Please help!

What would work better to improve my credit score. Would I be better off by keeping a zero balance on my credit cards and just using my debit card from my checking account? Or would my score improve faster if I were to consistently put charges on each on of my current credit cards and pay off the balance in full each month?

So I am travelling to the UK and I don’t have a credit card. I have someone with me who will have one but I don’t have one. I like to pay cash or debit. I’m sensing debit is out of the question so that leaves cash. I’ve never done this before so I have no idea what I’m doing. Do I take all the cash I’m going to need? (the hotel and flights are paid for, its just souvenirs and food I have to pay for). Is there a limit to how much I take on the flight with me?

All answers are appreciated, thanks for taking the time to answer me!

I want to get out of credit card debt. I’m in college, but am working. I have several cards that are at their limits, and have used most of my savings trying to pay the interest each month. I probably have a total of $5000 in debt, and while I make around $8000-10000 a year, I do have other expenses to pay. What are my options?

So i will be turning 18 in 2 months, and I want to begin building my credit: How do I begin? Someone told me that i should open a checking & saving account, then apply for a credit card, my question is how does paying your credit card affect you score? My teacher said that the best way to keep a good credit with a Credit Card is to charge on your credit card daily expenses, but pay them back the next day! Does this work? So if lets say my allowance in college will be around 2K a month, and If I get a credit card with a lets say $600 limit, and monday I charge $50 worth of food & gas then Tuesday I take my cash from my Debit card & pay the credit card, is that a good strategy? Also does opening like a Macy’s credit card or Dillard’s card help? Assuming that I use the same strategy as above where I only spend the amount of cash that I have then pay it back immediately? Help! Any other ways to improve my score so that I can reach that 800 milestone! And also If I get federal student loans that don’t have to be payed until 6 months after I graduate college (In 4 years) will they affect my score? Does the amount of loans affect it? If I have lets say 5K my freshman year then 10K sophomore, 15K junior year & 20K – 30K by the time I graduate? Any help will be appreciated, I’m just trying to educate myself, because my parents have terrible credit (Dad 680, Mom 530) and they don’t really understand the concept of it. Thank you!

I am going with a large group to italy and greece in the fall, I have heard that traveling checks are the best option but with my trip we are not allowed to have them, or at least the leaders don’t want us to bring them, They say that it would be to much of a hassle to use them and we just don’t have enough time… or something like that. So what then, is the next best option?

On day 3, the website announced that they have sent my item. on the 4th day, i went to check my account balance and my $50 was restored and the super awesome store listing had disappeared (like it never happened), yet, the website is still sending me the item. did i pay for it? whats the deal?

  • Jenell says:

After several years of CC debt I finally made it a point in 07′ to pay them off. So I wrote a $12,584.63 check (that hurt) to Visa to clear the remaining balance. The limit on this Visa was $16,000.00. Two weeks after the check was sent and applied to my account I received a letter from Visa stating ‘congratulations we have raised your credit limit to $23,000.00′. I don’t want/need that much credit and I am not sure if by keeping that limit helps or hurts my credit score or if I need to ever to apply for credit somewhere else if that will raise a red flag. Any adive of suggestions?

  • Nickolas says:

I made an online order a couple days ago at Old Navy’s Online store. The total came out to be $280, but they split up the items into 2 different packages, where 1 package is $250 and the other package is $30 (total of $280).

But here’s the problem: the first time my card was charged was a full $280 (which is the total of both packages). Then today, I looked at my online bank statement, and it appears they are charging another $30 (for the 2nd package), which reduced my balance by a total of $310 ($280 + $30).

Is this something that happens normally? Will they re-deposit $30 into my bank soon? or will I have to call them up?

  • Grady says:

i want to buy a new phone and pay the bill online each month with my debit card. how will these charges show up from the bank? for example, will the charges show up on my credit card bill? or will they just show as deductions from my debit account like any other purchase when i get y account statements?

the reason i ask is because my mom is NOSY and opens ALL the mail that comes to the house without even looking to see who it’s for. I don’t need anyone to tell me to talk to my mom and not have her open my mail. i am away at school for most of the year so all my mail still goes to my house which is why i want to have online billing for my new phone.

if anyone has used online billing please say so in your answer, thank you :-)
